A WEEK IN PARADISE
We researched numerous vacation rentals on Providenciales before finding Villa Kendara. We were attracted by the panoramic view of the sea, the privacy, the ideal location, the abundance of amenities, and the reasonable rate. Our choice did not disappoint, being everything we anticipated and more. The guesthouse is spotlessly clean, meticulously decorated, fully equipped, and well-stocked with supplies. From the gourmet kitchen to the spacious living room, and the comfortable bedroom to the large adjoining bathroom, it is a gem. On top of this, you have the spectacular view that we can’t say enough about, simply the best on Provo! The “Johnson Guide to Provo” is also amazing. Here you have page after page of invaluable information about activities, beaches, restaurants, and sites to see, and the directions in the “Travel Guide” insure that you never get lost. While the island is varied and gorgeous, we particularly enjoyed snorkeling and swimming in front of the property, relaxing by the pool, and watching sunrise and sunset, an occasional double rainbow, and the stars at night. If you are looking for a rental, you can totally rely on the photos in the listing. What you see is what you get but even more impressive in person. Be prepared to be blown away by this home away from home
THE BEST PROVO HAS TO OFFER
We spent a glorious three weeks at Villa Kendara. We had such an unforgettable experience, much in part thanks to Carol and Villa Kendara.
The Property: Villa Kendara is thoughtfully integrated with the natural landscape of the Turks & Caicos. The villa sits at the end of a peninsula, overlooking Long Bay and the massive expansive of perfectly-turquoise ocean. Lush, windswept vegetation lines the thoughtfully-curated property, where you'll have access to the pool, and ocean if you want to swim or just lay out and enjoy the views. In this secluded, tropical haven, you can see tons of small lizards, cicadas, and much of the local flora/fauna. Wake up every morning and take in one of the best views of Provo. In the distance, you can see the wreck of the La Famiille Express, and to the right of that, the Kite Boarders which speckle the shores of Long Bay Beach. Your piece of ocean in front of the property, however, is largely private and sees almost no visitors except the occasional jet skier. Inside the villa, Carol has thought of pretty much everything you might need for a comfortable stay. There is plenty of space to kick back and relax in between beach visits, cook a meal, and get ready for your next adventure. Renting a car is a must, but the island is so small that everything is easily within driving distance. Most drives are no greater than 10-15 minutes. Having chatted with many other folks who stayed at resorts along Grace Bay, we found that the villa actually encouraged us to engage in a more holistic experience of the island, rather than sticking to the businesses which are near the resorts.
The Host: Carol was amazing at communicating everything we needed in a timely fashion. She is always available and answers questions very quickly. I really can't say anything bad about our experience. She made the travel, check in, and check out portions of the trip completely seamless and issue-free. She also checked in after we arrived to ensure everything went smoothly, and sent a nice thank you after our visit was over. Incredible hospitality!
Price/Location/Etc: We met lots of other travelers while we were on island, and got to talk to many others about their local accommodations. Two things we consistently realized were that A) Villa Kendara offers one of the best values for ANY villa or resort on Provo. The price is incredibly reasonable for the level or service, quality of the rental, and level of hospitality which accompany it. And B) Many people stayed in the resorts because they wanted to be close to everything, but the truth is that island is so small that everything is really close together. We were 8-10 min. to all the amazing beaches. Additionally, by staying at Villa Kendara, we gained a level of seclusion and privacy that is un-achievable at any resort. Our pool and view and beach access was completely private. Amazing value!
Thanks so much to Carol, Tom, Becky, Weinland, and all the folks who help keep Villa Kendara running smoothly!
SUNRISE TO SUNSET
We had an amazing time staying at your place. My husband thought I was crazy, but I was up from sunrise to sunset taking pictures around the villa. I loved the peace and tranquility and the gorgeous views. So many birds, butterflies and even the Osprey to take pictures of. We loved driving around and exploring different beaches. We got our groceries and stayed in and cooked every night. Becky was wonderful to deal with, we really enjoyed our conversations with her.
Thanks again for everything and letting us stay with you. I hope and pray we can come stay again soon.
GREAT VALUE
If you are looking for a place that is exactly like the pictures, this is it. My husband, daughter and I had a lovely time in Provo. This villa is clean, quiet, secure, well stocked, has a pool with a killer view, is very quiet and in a great location. Carol and Tom gave us some great recommendations of things to see and do on the island. There are travel books available in the villa with anything you need to know from A to Z, a valuable and time saving resource. We have visited many Caribbean islands and this location is one of our favourites. You can book this place and not worry about a thing. Just a quick drive to the best beaches, restaurants, grocery stores. No surprises and no hidden extras, absolutely a great value. We are already planning our next visit.
PERFECT PLACE
We've visited Provo several times in the past and have our list of favorite spots and beaches to visit each year. This home changed all that, a location so perfect, a view so beautiful, that we couldn't bring ourselves to leave it. We would sit and have our morning coffee and watch 30-40 kite surfers take to the water. We jokingly called it the "rush hour traffic.” It's serene - - almost like a ballet as they sail through the turquoise water. As the temperature rose, we'd walk right down to the water and swim for a while, then around low tide, we'd walk to a small reef about 4-5 houses down that had a huge variety of fish and even a lobster. At night, we'd watch the sun set and then moon rise over the water. Provo has amazing places to eat, but we had all of our breakfasts, nearly all lunches and about 3/4 of our dinners at the home, which saved us a ton of money. The kitchen and BBQ grill made it easy to cook at home. Carol has thought of everything you might need for a great stay. She also has teamed up with some of the best known businesses on the island for specials and discounts for her guests. If you're looking for the perfect piece or paradise, you will not find anything better. Not only do I highly recommend this villa, we've also become repeat guests, already booking our next Provo trip at Carol's.
